Tough slog today.

Finding shelter from the wind on this morning's ride. Our target was Lyons, KS about 55 miles to the east but we had to ride NE into a strong NNW this morning so it took us over 2 hours to go 22 miles. More challenging is that the wind just seems to suck the soul out of you as it just pulls and tugs at you and your bike.

We're sitting at a Perkins with all of the post-church goers having our mid-day breakfast and contemplating staying or pushing on 32 more miles to Lyons.  After a nice breakfast and some rest I expect we'll push on to Lyons to get slightly ahead of our schedule. We never know for sure what the next day or two days will bring. ??

  1. Hope your day went OK after the windy morning. Your getting close to Teresa's family, just south of Wichita.

I'm looking forward to eating big breakfasts with you two, food looks great, and I bet the work out makes it taste even better.

    Take care, John

  2. We'll wave southward as we pass Wichita to the north. I find my mind wandering to many things while riding including songs, what I might write in the blog at the end of the day, and of course thinking of friends and family. But food comes to mind many, many times a day. 🍕
